We keep telling our team to get out there and shoot with some quality photographers, well this is what happens when you listen. We just did another run of posters and did a couple thousand with Atwaters Chris Mumma. I was out back this afternoon setting up a little bank to curb next to the Atwater RV that we got parked behind the office and Chris rolled up with his girlfriend Ally. I thought what a perfect time to get Chris to sign some posters to hang up around town and specifically Wahoo’s. So below you can see how I made Chris feel like a celebrity and had him sign a few posters and snap a couple shots.

Next poster will be Isidro Vargas doing a Frontside Blunt down an 11 stair in Santa Ana, we discussed it yesterday.

Atwater brings the 1st ever straight razor shave booth to ASR

So It has taken a bit of time to compile all the photos from this past ASR that we just finished a few weeks back but I think it was worth the wait. As many of you already know we had a barbershop set up on the floor of the show to do haircuts and straight razor shaves. Now for those of you out there that have not yet had a straight razor shave it is quite an experience. They wrap a steaming hot towel around your face to get the wiskers to stand at attention so its a smooth shave and let me tell you its smooth. Its a little weird at first but then when you come to the realization that these guys are professionals and they do this 40 times a day you kind of just sit back and relax.

We had our good friends Brent Ferris and AJ Henley come down and perform their skilled craft on the attendees of the show and with a never ending supply of people lined up to get cut it was quite a busy day for the two of them but they did it with a smile on their face the entire time.

So for those of you who didn’t get to stop by the booth this year hopefully we will have it going on next August as well and you can get your shave on then.

BMB had me schedule him for 9:30am on day 2 of the show but since nobody was there at 9am I decided to get a little trim via the blade

I felt bad when I would take these shots of the guys getting the shaves because your natural reaction when someone puts a camera in your face is to smile except when your getting a straight razor shave because if you move while their shaving your throat there is a chance you could get cut

The Bear from what I believe was from the H-Street booth was roaming around the halls so I pulled him in for a quick cut

I dont think he thought we were serious but then the cape came out and he looked a bit concerned

Doog from Surf Expo is a busy guy and knows everybody at the trade shows so it was difficult for him to wait in the lounge for his shave while everybody he knew kept walking on by

Josh Hunter from Transworld was doing a little segment on the most amazing flare ever seen at a tradeshow.

The Von Zipper family was all over the place while their family member took a little off the top

I pulled this one off AJ’s facebook page and didn’t realize until I was resizing the photos that it has Brents name across his chest. Wingnut was the first in line to get a shave on Wed. I have been pumping him up on this for about 2 1/2 months now and I think he was pretty stoked on the outcome.

The Dirty Heads and Atwater

So if you were up this morning around 7am on your way into work or to the beach or maybe on the way home from an all night bender there is a strong possibility that you heard The Dirty Heads performing live on the Kevin and Bean Show this morning and if your familiar with the Kevin and Bean show you would know that they are quite selective as to who they invite to perform on their show. Anyway, Dustin and Jared were on their way over to the studio just about a half hour ago and they got to swing by to grab some gear on their way.

So we went down to the Agenda show last Friday and took a lap around. We got to see a bunch of folks over there showing their goods. Joe Edukas, the guy behind the guy was there rocking his Briggs hat in all its glory.

Mr Ladjanski has been with us from the get go representing Philly and NY for us. He has been doing a lot of stuff lately with This Mob Blows which is a pretty cool site. He is still on top of his game and still ripping.

Eastern Lines Surf Shop

So Jack Laird Atwaters New Jersey North Sales power house is still out there hitting the streets even during the cold front rolling through. He had an appointment with Barry over at Eastern Lines this afternoon to show him the summer 2010 line. I always tell Jack to take pictures so I can put them up on the site so he sent me this one of he and Barry at the shop on a busy Thursday.

Isidro Vargas

Isidro and his little nephew came by the office on Monday to spread some Thanksgiving cheer. He mentioned that he just posted a new video on the tube so we gave it a looksy. Vargas was getting some pretty impressive tricks down and even pulled a little old school flavor out of his bag of tricks like throwing down a barrage of boneless’ down a nice 10 stair.

Lance Mountain and Devin Briggs

Lance and Devin have been getting into some mischief lately in the So Cal area. I talked to Lance the other day as he was just leaving an abandoned warehouse in Long Beach that he was going to go back to later with Devin and try and build a wall ride inside. They like most skaters hit the lit spots at night so they run into less conflict from authorities and angry store owners. More pictures to follow.
