Fearless, ambitious and humble Noah Johnson is one of the most recognized pro surfers around the world. Born in Hilo on the big island of Hawaii, Johnson has always had an infatuation with big waves. He knew from the time that he was little he wanted to take on the most powerful waves. After high school Johnson moved to Oahu to make his dreams become reality. In 1999 he won the prestigious Quiksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau big wave competition tackling the 25 foot surf of Waimea Bay. In 2001 he went on to get third place in the 2001XXL and in 2003 placed second in the XXL. Johnson went on to team up with a group of the greatest surfers to do the Billabong Odyssey Tour, a documentary of traveling the seven seas to find and ride the biggest waves. Noah Johnson will be known forever as one of the most adventurous big wave riders in surf history. Noah’s favorite Atwater pieces are the “Bricks” t-shirt and “Newport” plaid walk shorts.
