Matt Gorman is one of Atwater’s big wave surfers. Currently living on the North Shore, Oahu, Matt spends most of his time surfing. When he is not out in the water he is fishing, diving, or training for a big swell. Gorman grew up on the beach and found a love for the water and surf since he was 6 years old. Matt’s parents wouldn’t let him start surfing until he completed swimming lessons and junior life guards and by the time his 9th birthday came around, there was no getting him off his board. Gorman is influenced by all the pro surfers he read about and followed in surfing magazines while he was growing up. Matt is also influenced by his parents because they live such a happy life together. Matt’s goals for the future are to finish his last year of college. After school he just wants to keep catching big waves and to start traveling again. Matt’s favorite Atwater piece is the “White Tiger” board shorts.
