Next time your taking a peaceful drive down the PCH and you happen to stumble upon the dreamy little town of Dana Point take some time out of your day to make your way into Infinity Surfboards which is located right at the tip of DP on PCH. Not only will you find yourself in a maze of some of the best surfboards this side of the Mississip but on your way in you can’t help but notice the 6 foot Not so Happy Panda Bears in the front window. This was done by the legendary Ladies man, The Angry Woebot who is a great friend to Atwater and will now be scaring the great folks of Dana Point for the next few months but don’t worry he just looks scary. Feel free to go on inside Infinity and ask for the Brown Blurr and have him take your picture in front of the window and I’ll throw you up on this here blog for millions to see!

So I was wondering if the fixed gear bikes were still as popular as they were about a year ago when everyone from the Brown Blurr, to J to the IzzO were ridding those bad boys from here to there and back again. I was thinking about this at this past ASR tradeshow and figured that I might just as well ask someone who eats and bleeds fixed gear bikes so I went on a search for Jason Hassan. I found Jason or Fixxy Hassan as he likes to be called on the streets just straight up cruising up and down the isles of ASR on one of his custom jobs he had built specifically for his type of aggressive fix gear attack on the hills and back alleys of Costa Mesa. I didn’t get my camera out in time but at one point Fixxy Hassan here was actually riding his bike (or as he has referred to it many times as his reason for living) like a surf board up and down the isles kinda like you would assume some crazy guy up on the venice boardwalk would do it but either way it was a real treat.
When I asked Fixxy what his motivation behind progressive fixed gear biking was he said that he is just doing what he loves. Getting gnar is just an added bonus. I asked if he had any plans to take fixed gear bikes to any new heights and he just looked at me and mouthed two words that will haunt me till the day I die, “Mega Ramp”.
