Dean Bradley aka Mainframe was recently asked to be involved in an art show that Hurley was putting together in Hawaii called the “Anti Canvas” art show. Along with Mainframe was Nat Woolley and The Angry Woebot. Atwaters Wayne Agsalda went to event and sent over a few pics for us to throw up here.

Infinity working hard or hardly working??

Infinity working hard or hardly working??

December 11th, 2009 by Mike Quilliam

So we had to journey South this morning to Dana Point and the land of Infinity Surf. We got there around 9:30 and walked next door to the furniture store to do a little window shopping when from out of nowhere a black van with Infinity surfboards plastered across the side came roaring around the corner. Inside this black box was none other than the infamous Brown Blurr.

So Jack Laird Atwaters New Jersey North Sales power house is still out there hitting the streets even during the cold front rolling through. He had an appointment with Barry over at Eastern Lines this afternoon to show him the summer 2010 line. I always tell Jack to take pictures so I can put them up on the site so he sent me this one of he and Barry at the shop on a busy Thursday.

They got a nice supply of old school decks

A nice bunch of rubber

They have a huge selection of boards including SUP’s

My morning at Lefty’s Barbershop in San Diego

My morning at Lefty’s Barbershop in San Diego

December 9th, 2009 by Mike Quilliam

So we are doing a little event at next years ASR trade show where we have partnered up with Brent Ferris of Lefty’s Barbershop in San Diego to offer up some original straight razor shaves right there on the floor of the show. I went down to meet up with Brent on Tuesday morning to go over some of the details for the show.

I got down to Diego around 9am which was about an hour ahead of time but luckily Brent was right around the corner on his way in to the shop. We started talking about what he needed for the show to keep the old school barber shop feel in a booth at ASR and the supplies that we are going to need. As we started going over everything that was needed and Brent was explaining the purpose for each item he threw out the idea of giving me a straight shave so I knew how to actually explain it to people first hand. It is a really cool process which goes through 3 hot towels wrapped around your face and in between each towel he rubs your face down with different types of moisturizers that just makes the whiskers relax and get your whiskers ready for execution time. At the end of the shave he wraps your face with a cold towel to close the pores.

The best part of the shave was after the 4 towels and after all the moisturizers when Brent looked at me with his hands out on either side of my face and said “Alright here’s what separates the men from the boys” and a moment after that he slapped both sides of my face with what felt like hot lava but in fact was only some after shave.

It was an experience to get the shave and I’m so stoked that we are going to be making this available to the attendees at ASR this Feb.
